So, last saturday was my cheat day as mentioned on the book. For those who have not yet read it, the idea is basically to keep on the diet for 6 days, and the 7th, you get a free pass. You can eat anything you want, as much as you want it.
I've read this on several places before for a variety of diets. The idea behind this is that your body should not get used to the lower caloric count you might be eating during the diet, otherwise your metabolism will adapt to that, and the fat loss will decrease.
As mentioned, this Saturday was my free day, so I thought I would go out with a bang. I had a couple of things in mind that I wanted to eat (all of them were gathered during the week, whenever I would have a craving, I would just write it down for the cheat day), so I started the day with a big coffee with milk, sugar on it as I like it and 3 big croissant. For lunch I got 3 pieces of breaded breast chicken with some french fries.
So far everything was going great, I got what I wanted, and was feeling quite good. Around 5 PM I got another cup of coffee with 2 more croissants. And from there on, it all went downhill.
I was playing StarCraft 2 after eating what I've just mentioned, when all of the sudden, I started to feel quite bad. It seemed like the room was getting really hot, and I was starting to have cold sweat. My stomach was not feeling that well either. I lay down for a while and everything was better, so I got back into my gaming, after yet another loss (yeah, it was a dark day for me at SC2 that day), I started feeling bad again, so I just decided to skip dinner and go directly to bed.
Looking back at it, I think it was not the food that actually made me feel bad, but rather the loss streak on the game, I know what you are thinking, it's just a game, it's supposed to be played for fun, etc. But if you think this way, it means you've never played starcraft or played it to the point where you want to get better :D
As for the cheat day, it was an overall good day, I got to eat what I wanted, and all within the boundaries of the diet (I just got that one day to get rid of all my cravings). Though I have the feeling that given that I did not have dinner that day because of my stomach, I might have not gone overboard with the caloric intake as I expected it to be.
So far, I can say that the diet is working, at least I can say that from a "feeling" point of view. I've got my first weighting (the second one, but the first was at the beginning of the diet as a baseline) to compare how I've done this week. I will be posting those results for everyone here.
